While adapting a process from early color photography to work with a custom made scanner camera, Schultz makes large landscape photographs that evoke visceral otherworldly sensations. Vivid psychedelic colors fracture the image wherever movement has occurred between exposures so that time is rendered in an unfamiliar way. These landscape photographs are the product of a hybrid analogue/digital process, compressing time between new and aging technologies addressing a growing mass of obsolete imaging devices.
